Every child deserves a home
Help Us #FurnishFutures
A message from Denise Govan, President & CEO, DCCH Center for Children and Families
At DCCH Center for Children and Families, our mission is to provide healing and hope for children who have faced unimaginable challenges. Every day, our Residential Treatment Program offers 32 children not just a place to stay, but a chance to rebuild their lives in a safe, stable, and loving environment. Creating that sense of home is vital to each child’s journey toward healing and eventually transitioning to a permanent family setting. That’s why we are focusing on an often-overlooked part of their care: the furniture in their living spaces.
Every child deserves to feel at home while they heal for the future that awaits them.
Over the years, we’ve considered names like Cozy Corners, Spaces to Smile, and Living Spaces and Loving Places to reflect how important the environment is in the healing process. The right surroundings promote calm, comfort, and belonging. Unfortunately, the furniture in our four residential apartments is now over a decade old—worn down, patched, and no longer reflecting the warm, inviting space our children need. Today, better options exist—furniture designed for durability, comfort, safety, and longevity. Updating the apartments is our top priority, but we also hope to refresh the lobby—where parents embrace their children and where every visitor forms a first impression and the playroom, a space that nurtures imagination and healing. By carrying a welcoming theme throughout, we can create a cohesive, comforting environment that truly feels like home.
Please consider making a tax-deductible donation today to help us #FurnishFutures. With your support, we can transform these spaces—and the lives within them.
