The Galbraith Family
September 12, 2025
The Galbraith family was recently honored and treated by the Jeff Ruby Foundation to a “Fighting Chance Family Dinner”. Trish and Gary Galbraith have been foster parents with DCCH Center for Children and Families for more than a decade. Besides the many children who were loved and cared for temporarily as foster youth, two unrelated teen boys who were once living in the DCCH Residential Program found their forever home after the Galbraith family welcomed them permanently into their lives. Currently the family is providing care for another younger boy with a goal of reunification with birth family.
Together Trish and Gary with their entire family enjoyed a once in a lifetime evening courtesy of Jeff Ruby Foundation. They were chauffeured to and from their home in Northern Kentucky to the Jeff Ruby Steakhouse downtown Cincinnati. Starting with treats and drinks in the luxury ride, ice cream floats, unbelievable appetizers, and shrimp so large they would have made a meal alone, to choice steak dinners and sides, it was so incredibly delicious. Trish said, “they were totally spoiled and helped create a memory never to be forgotten”. Desserts of all types were eaten with delight and then the famous Air Ruby shoe cake was set before them to further enjoy. Gary said, “they ate like royalty’. They had plenty left over to feed the family into the next week!
Jeff Ruby himself visited the family and he shared how he was having a tough day, but they made his evening happier. God bless the Ruby family, the Foundation staff and board for their generous kindness shown to foster/adoptive parents willing to make a difference in children’s lives. On behalf of the Galbraith clan and DCCH – THANK YOU!!!!
