Since 1997, HALO — Helping All The Little Ones — has been the quiet heartbeat of DCCH, wrapping our children and staff in unwavering love and support. Since its beginning, this extraordinary volunteer group has devoted itself to giving our kids not just care, but childhood — the kind filled with laughter, celebration, and moments they’ll carry for a lifetime.
The joy and support halo brings
DCCH works hard to create moments that help our kids feel celebrated, connected, and cared for. Thanks to HALO’s support, our children look forward to special events all year long — from the endofschool cookout and ice cream social to St. Nick stockings, Trunk or Treat, and a warm Thanksgiving luncheon shared with kids and staff. HALO volunteers make these joyful traditions possible year after year.
HALO’s impact extends even further by offering meaningful experiences that bring joy in everyday ways. Fun outings like swimming and bowling give our kids the chance to feel free, adventurous, and wonderfully normal — experiences that mean so much in their healing journey.
Beyond celebrations and meaningful experiences, HALO helps DCCH meet practical needs with care and dignity. Our kids receive cozy bedding, cheerful room décor, bean bag chairs, recreation equipment, summer pool gear, MP3 players, and so much more — items that help create comfort, foster belonging, and brighten their everyday lives.
Every experience and every item reminds our kids of this simple truth: at DCCH, they are seen, supported, and deeply cared for.
Make a Difference for HALO Through Kroger Rewards
Supporting HALO has never been easier. Through the Kroger Community Rewards program, anyone can help our mission just by doing their everyday shopping. When a shopper links their Kroger Shopper’s Card to HALO, Kroger donates to us based on their regular purchases. Each quarter, Kroger allocates proceeds—based on sales—among organizations selected by the community and distributes the funds accordingly.
Nothing changes about the shopping experience. Participants keep all their fuel points, discounts, and personal rewards. The giving happens automatically in the background, directing a portion of Kroger’s charitable contributions to HALO.

- Link your Shopper’s Card
- Select HALO as your organization
From there, every eligible purchase helps support our kids — simply shop, swipe, and make a difference.
